Yamaha YSP-800

by Austin
(St. Louis, MO)

I just got a Yamaha YSP-800 digital sound projector - or sound bar to go with my new Sharp Aquos 46" LCD TV. I have to tell you the sound is amazing. The Yamaha sound bar is just a slim speaker unit that goes under a flat panel or even in a corner. Coupled with an extremely stylish powered subwoofer the sound is multi-dimensional with an astonishing sound field. I just keep saying how in the hell are they getting such sound out of one speaker?! According to the user's guide it has like over 20 speakers and each has its own digital amp. They put the speakers into different phase relationships to make the sound appear as if it is coming from one side or the other and even behind you. Yes, even behind - i couldn't believe it - the speaker is like a ventriloquist or something! If you want an easy answer to your audio without running a bunch of speaker wires
check it out here.
